Parking
For loading and unloading you are fine to stop outside for a few minutes, as it is a narrow road we ask that you do not stay long. You are welcome to park outside on the road alongside the shops for 1 hour at a time and generally all night up until around 8 am in the morning.( see signs ) There is ample free parking 40 yards up the road on the left in the station car park which is unrestricted in parking time.
Courtyard
The gate into the courtyard is a keypad gate and opens easily from the inside. On returning from any trips out simply key in the code on the keypad on the outside ( Which you will find on the laminated card on your bed ) and open the gate, remember the code or take a photo, to be able to return if you go out.
Lighting in the courtyard is automatic so that it comes on when it registers people entering, but it is advisable to take extra care on the stairs and use a torch if you have one The door at the top of the stairs is unlocked for when you arrive.
Entrance
All the inside floors are carpeted, where possible please remove dirty shoes. If you have muddy boots from walking please remove them on entry.
Guest sitting room
The large room at the front of the building on this floor is known as the quiet carriage/ dining carriage and is for our guests to use. There are books and maps which you may find useful and a comfortable seating area and tables. The snooker table can also be utilised as a pool table by using all the reds and all the colours.
A complimentary continental style breakfast is available in the quiet carriage for our guests who are up and out early. If you require a more substantial breakfast please make use of the cafe downstairs from 9am. every day to around 5 pm.
The lights for the quiet carriage are just inside the door. Please turn them off when you are finished in there.

Your Room
We have provided clean fresh bed linen, toilet rolls, towels and bath mat, let me know if you want them changed during your stay. Your room has been professionally cleaned by housekeeping before your arrival and I always appreciate it if you leave it clean and tidy after your stay. The property and all rooms have a preset central heating system to provide a comfortable temperature. Please use the regulator on the radiators in your room to adjust the room temperature to your liking. There are tea and coffee making facilities in your room . Milk is kept in the fridge, there is more milk in the fridge by the guests sitting ( quiet carriage ) should you need it. Your room has a pay as you use honesty bar with a good selection of drinks, please leave the money for any drinks consumed on the fridge top or settle up in the cafe when you check out.
If you require more or different drinks please ask and we will happily supply them.
Your room has a smart TV installed with the standard channels, though reception is sometimes poor and weather dependant. It will also provide all the internet services and if you have a netflix or amazon or similar channel membership you can access those channels. It also has all the catch up channels.
Bathroom
A bin is provided for lady, man, and baby items , please do not flush them down the toilet. Body wash, toilet rolls and hand towel are provided. Hot water is provided by an electric tank and will provide a good amount of very hot water for showers and baths, it should be sufficient for normal use. Always check the shower temperature before using it as the water is hot. Light switches are located near the bedroom doors, as are the bathroom lights. Switches for bedside lights are by the bed.
Leaving.
Checkout time is10.30AM. We need to clean and prepare the rooms daily so ask that you do leave your accommodation on time. We will strip beds and collect laundry together. Check you have everything you came with. Please always inform the staff in the cafe that you are checking out if it is open.
Facilities
Fire Alarm
There is a fire alarm installed throughout the building and fire extinguishers in key areas. Please read the information in your room on the door back on what to do in the event of a fire alarm going off. We carry out regular alarm testing but will always inform you prior to doing so.
We do not allow smoking anywhere on the premises especially in the rooms as we consider it a fire risk. Guests not adhering to this, will be asked to leave
Security Equipment
For your safety and security we have cameras that monitor the courtyard and public areas. These are solely to provide security to our guests and to monitor the building. They are not there for any other purpose or to intrude and we hope guests appreciate and accept our good intentions.
WIFI
We have provided WIFI throughout the building from a fixed line by a major provider. The WIFI comes in from the pole outside. We try to ensure that it is functioning most of the time but due to the supply cannot guarantee this.
To connect WIFI, go to Station House Guest WIFI and use the password. EspressoYourself . Capital E, capital Y, all one word, no gaps .
FAQ
Smoking
We are a completely non-smoking hotel and require that you do not smoke anywhere on the hotel premises including the courtyard terrace.
Emergency Services
There is a doctors and Dentists in South Brent. Hospitals in Plymouth and Torquay. There is also a chemist in the village.
Taxis to and from local pubs and other places are reasonable and easy to arrange for you.
